Also, a lot of smaller galleries have websites that actually list how they prefer to be contacted about work and their submission guidelines.
If you’re not like me and the thought of randomly walking into a gallery and talking to people doesn’t make you want to poop your pants, that may work too, especially if you have a portfolio.
Also, trying to get a vibe for the style of work a gallery is into is a good idea too, for instance I wouldn’t submit my stuff to places that mostly display landscapes or strictly realist shit.
